Root Canal Therapy
As a dentist who partners with endodontists in Stark County, Dr. Albrecht believes that root canals are an essential part of providing the best possible care for her patients. When a patient experiences severe tooth pain, a root canal can save the tooth from extraction and prevent the spread of infection. Working with an endodontist ensures that our patients receive specialized care that is tailored to their unique needs. Once the endodontist has completed the root canal, we take over and restore the tooth with a crown or filling. This collaborative approach allows for a seamless transition from the endodontist's expertise in root canal therapy to my expertise in restorative dentistry. By working together, we can provide our patients with the best possible outcome and a healthy, fully functional smile.
WHAT IS INVOLVED IN A ROOT CANAL PROCEDURE?
Root Canal Treatment usually involves local anesthesia and may be completed in one or two visits. Root Canal Treatments are performed at a 90% success rate and if your tooth is not amenable to endodontic treatment or the chance of success is unfavorable, Dr. Albrecht will inform you during your consultation that you should consider alternate treatment. We advise all patients that with the appropriate oral care, your treated tooth should be expected to function and last as long as your other natural teeth.
IS A ROOT CANAL TREATMENT RIGHT FOR ME?
Once Dr. Albrecht has diagnosed your tooth and selected root canal treatment as your solution, you can trust that this is your best treatment plan to save your tooth. If you are given a choice between tooth extraction or root canal treatment, Dr. Albrecht will always recommend saving and preserving your natural tooth. Today, patients have access to a variety of modern treatments and understanding your options is important as it directly impacts your future dental health.
